I don't think you need a new thread for every meal...
Weigh your food, log it, make sure you're under your calorie goal. Doesn't matter what you eat, if you eat fewer calories that you use you'll lose weight. Even if you just start spooning sugar out of the bag instead of eating normal food (that's a bad idea for many reasons, but if you weigh it and it's under your calorie goal, it won't stop you losing weight!).8 -
Seriously?
You can eat what you like, in amounts that fit your calorie goal, and still achieve your weight loss goal.
Id personally have a beef burger with bacon, egg and cheese, on a sourdough roll, with normal potato fries. Because yum. (and the person in my profile pic enjoyed just that about 4 hours before the photo was taken)5 -
Okay thank you ! Does mfp give an accurate of the calories you eat when you tell it you want to lose weight ??0
-
If you've put in your height and weight correctly it should give you a reasonable number. Make sure not to over estimate your exercise or under estimate your food though. Best idea is to give it a go for a few weeks, then reassess whether you've lost as much as you thought you would and adjust from there1
-
When i do cardio i put the calories i burned in from what the machine says , is that okay ?0
-
Also mfp gives you a set amount of macros, do you have to follow these macros or can you change them?? If i change them will iteffect progress or will being in calorie defecit be enough even if macros are higher or lower than mfp gave me??0
-
I don't know how accurate your machine is... there's a thread somewhere about how many exercise calories people eat back. I only eat back 50% from my running tracker app - I figure I get 50% of the calories today, and the other 50% goes towards future slim me if you find you're not losing weight (or losing too fast) then you can adjust what proportion you eat back.
If the calories are right then you'll lose weight. Macros can be changed and you should probably experiment with that to find out what works best for you. I like a little more protein and fat and a bit less carbohydrate - helps me to not get so hungry0 -
Thank you so much !! I have set my goal as maintain weight but will make sure i eat less than that amount so i can still lose some weight but i dont want to put myself in too much of a defecit because cant that effect my progress as my muscles in abs and other body prts wont have the food or energy to grow ??1

losing weight and gaining muscle doesn't happen at the same time. if you are at goal weight, and lean-ish, you could do a recomp (eating at maintenance, following a progressive lifting program, so you are losing fat slowly as you gain muscle slowly, to change your body composition whilst maintaining your current weight)
if you want to get leaner, and have significant fat to lose, you need to be in a deficit. if you want to bulk, and grow muscle (more easily than in recomp), you need to be in a surplus. pick one goal at a time and eat accordingly.1 -
You can literally eat whatever you want, as long as you maintain a calorie deficit.2

Yes. But if you have a decent amount of fat to lose, trying to lose that first would be a better approach.0 -
What's your height and weight? Are you trying to lose weight? Or just get fitter?
For snacks - I like hard boiled eggs0 -

Low carb because i have nearly hit my carb count but have proteins left. Also no i dont have a lot of body fat to get rid of, i can see some abs i just want them to be bigger and more defined ?

OP, read the "Most Helpful Posts" stickied at the top of the forum. Lots of good info in there.0

Sweet potatoes fries are more calories than French fries normally. As long as the meal fits into your calorie goal should be fine!!0

OP this very informative thread should help you out with explaining recomp.

OP = Original Poster, which would be you in this case. You can eat your food any time you wish. Sometimes, people find that eating some carbohydrates prior to exercise makes their workout go better, and for others it doesn't matter. I also agree that you would find the "recomp" thread linked above useful.
