Are steviol glycosides (sweetener) considered safe in your opinion?

Sometimes I eat baked beans which use sweetener (steviol glycosides) instead of sugar. I personally would not buy them but other family members prefer them which is fine.

Just wondering if anyone has good reason to avoid steviol glycosides or are they harmless. I would rather consume these sort of sweetener rather than artificial ones. I don't consume much sugar anyway and for the sweetener itself probably ones every few weeks so not really part of my diet.

In an ideal world I would make my own with passata :)

What are your thoughts on steviol glycosides?

Thanks

Not everything that is "natural" is good for you, and not everything that is "artificial" is bad for you. Further, none of us are getting out of this alive -- we're all going to die of something. You can either live in fear of things that some people think are bad for you or you can just enjoy life. I use stevia every day, and if not available, I'll use whatever artificial sweetener is at hand. Now get ready for the flood of woo, pseudo-scientific publication links, and personal stories that is sure to follow.
