On an daily basis I walk around a lot approximately 7000 steps per day , should this be counted as exercise or classed as just a routine thing I do, as it is not something extra like riding a bike or been on a treadmill.
Thanks

If that's average for you then you should put your activity level to light or moderate. Only intentional exercise is to be added.0

7000 steps would be enough to put your activity level solidly in the lightly active activity range.
Below 5k steps you would be closer to sedentary and above 9k closer to active.
Any activities used to generate the 7k steps would not be counted separately as they would be part of your lightly active setting
Additional exercise over and above should be accounted for.
On days where one would not hit 5k, the sedentary setting might be more appropriate.1
