I need some success stories for motivation for who has lost the regained weight. Because I am in the same boat of losing the 20 kgs again and I find it very harder to budge the scale. Inches are lost but the scale doesn't. Pls advise

I'm not sure if I'm a success story yet - too early in "maintainance" to tell. Crap could hit the fan tomorrow :)

But, I reached "goal" for the 3rd time in 6 years at the end of Sept. 2017. In 2011, I lost 50lbs, in 2013, found 20 of it. In 2015 lost 15lbs. In 2016-2017 gained 20 of it back. August of 2017 I decided enough was enough and I BUCKLED DOWN. Ended up losing about 14lbs in 2.5 months, then over the last 2 I lost another 6. I'm currently the lowest weight I've ever been as an adult. Still healthy (19.9 BMI), but it's weird to feel this "light". I'm so light that my Mom swears there's something wrong with my scale :)

Even though I have considerable wiggle room (sitting about 5lbs below my lowest "range" weight), I'm PETRIFIED of gaining the weight back and having to do this all over again for the 4th time...

My plan for maintainance is to make myself weigh EVERYDAY. I don't care if I fell of the wagon the day before, ate like crap, drank too much wine/beer, didn't move, I'm still weighing. And recording what the scale says EVERYDAY in Libra. I have over 2 months of data right now and the trend has never gone up - it's always down. Even if the down is SLOW. I'd prefer to see that than up - My "oh crap, intervention, mama needs to start buckling down again" weight is 152. Currently I'm sitting around 142. I'm still logging food but since my stomach shrunk considerably I'm unable to eat much more than I am. I'm just full faster. And I'm a major light weight so I can't drink as much as I once did.

I made it through a week at an all inclusive resort without logging a single calorie and still maintained. I lost 1 lb during Thanksgiving week.

I hope, I hope, I hope this works. I'm so tired of starting again. So I know where you are coming from. It's annoying. But channel that annoyance and kick some butt. It's worth it, even if have to do it 2-3 times to figure out how to get it right, once and for all.

Are you working out allot? If your losing inches but not weight perhaps your losing fat (ie inches) but gaining muscle (which adds weight). I initially lost over 100 lbs but over 2 years gained back over 70 lbs and increased my waist by 12 inches. I restarted MFP in Feb. of this year and increased my exercise quite a bit but really focused on my diet. In fact I've dropped calories to under 1500 a day but made sure I'm eating High Protein and low Carbs which works for me. I've had body composition testing done monthly and in the past 8 months have lost almost 90lbs of fat but gained 4 pounds of muscle and 3 pounds of water (It's normal for water weight to increase when you increase muscle). Happy to report I'm actually more fit now with a smaller waist then when I lost over 100. Tough part now is to make sure I stay in maintenance mode and not yo you anylonger.

If you are losing inches but not weight you might look for a body composition testing center and get your body fat, muscle and water measured and then do the same every month or every 3 months. It's really a good way to make sure your doing the right things (ie. You don't want to lose muscle)

I have been a yoyo dieter for years - sometimes up and down 40 pounds, more often 20 pounds. This time I've been maintaining at a very low (for me) weight for almost a year. The difference is I didn't stop logging what I ate. That keeps me from slipping into bad habits. Also, I get a lot more exercise on a consistent basis. Since I enjoy running long races, maintaining a good base and then training for full and half marathons helps me burn a lot of calories. It makes a difference. In the past when I was able to keep weight off it was because I was hiking regularly and walking a lot to and from work.
