Am I gaining weight properly?

I'm trying to put on some bulk since I've always been really skinny. I am a 33 yr old male and when I started about 6 weeks ago I weighed around 143 pounds. I've been strength training 4 days/wk and eating a surplus of between 200-400 calories per day. I've also been using a macro of about 50c/30p/20f.
My question is: I'm gaining about a pound a week or maybe a little less over the past 6 weeks. My waist and hip measurements have increased by about an inch. I also measure with calipers and my body fat % does not seem to have changed much if at all. I would definitely like to keep fat gain to a minimum.
So does this sound reasonable? This is really the first time in my life that I've committed myself to strength training and dieting properly with a goal in mind. In the end, I still want to be lean, like around 155-160 lbs, but have good muscle definition. Should I keep going the way I'm going now and start a cutting cycle once I reach 160ish to get the definition?
Thanks a bunch!

Firstly a pound a week is about the rate you want. Secondly don't work on set ratios or % for your macros. Use this link to work out your TDEE and your macros then adjust these on MFP.

I'm doing an upper/lower split twice a week which is working well for me.0 -
A pound a week at MAXIMUM is reasonable, but some of that will be fat. I aim for 0.5lbs per week for my lean bulks.0
