I'm back to using Myfitnesspal after several years. I've gained 20 pounds and I'm desperate to lose it as I'm getting older and adding weight is a big problem. My metabolism isn't what it used to be. Although I exercise hard three days a week doing cardio and weights, the pounds are just not coming off. I'm concerned I'll need to do some extreme calorie restriction to make a dent.

Several years ago, extreme calorie restriction (less than 1200 consumed by a female) was not recommended and it still isn't. Please be patient with the process. Log your food accurately. Be honest with your diary. Exercise all you want and eat an appropriate amount of fuel for the exercise you do. I'm sure you already know that.1
