Motivation tips please?

I was down to almost 20 away from my weight goal. Now I'm back to 40. Pretty irritating, but what can I do to help motivate myself when I get in the "I want sleep and to do nothing" mode I keep finding myself in?

Honestly, motivation is a dead end path. Decide what is important to you and form action oriented habits that get you there. Worrying about motivation is an empty well.

    Agreed.

I find that refocusing on my goals can help... not so much the "I want to weigh x" goals, but rather the "I want to be able sleep through the night" or "I want to be able to run without feeling like I'm going to break in half". Those types of goals tend to be more meaningful to me.

Sometimes I still say "eff it", but not all the time.

Stop thinking about "motivation" like some kind of magic dust that will fall on you when the stars are aligned just right and make you do the things you don't want to do. Motivation is the drive, the reason for what you do. Losing weight isn't something you do, that happens to you when you consistently eat less. And you can find a way to eat less that doesn't reduce your quality of life. Maybe you just need more sleep. To lose weight, you just have to eat less. Being rested makes it easier to eat less.

Motivated can fade, my approach was to develop good habits, that have now become second nature to me.
