Fitbit syncing/accurate exercise calories??

I run anywhere from 2.5 to 4 miles a day which I have done daily since Thanksgiving, and it shows up in my Fitbit HR as steps and calories burned. But it doesn't show up in my MFP as exercise counted, why's that? like yesterday for example; I ran 3.5 miles and by end of 8pm I hit 10K steps with 2,618 cals. MFP shows 761 cals when I manually add in 3.5 miles as my exercise of the day.

confused here! and I'm on a strict 1,200 calorie so every calorie has to count for me otherwise I could be overeating or underrating without knowing.

When you sync your Fitbit, you'll see activity adjustments -- not tracking for specific exercises.

It's less concerned with your individual exercise sessions than how much more or less you moved -- throughout the day -- than the activity level you gave MFP would predict. The adjustments are designed to have your calorie goal match your actual movement.

Since I have my Fitbit synced, I don't bother to log my exercise in MFP.

how do you ensure your Fitbit IS synced correctly? as that is what I want, but even I'm not sure whether mine is synced despite saying it is connected to my FMP.

If you're seeing adjustments, then you're synced. Are you seeing any adjustments at all?

If it's syncing correctly, you'll find that your caloric allowance through MFP and Fitbit should be pretty similar to each other by the end of the day (providing your stats and deficit amount are the same on each site at least).

And I agree with @cybertone 's post. They're good links for this sort of issue. Remember, when mfp is connected to a fitbit account, log your food through mfp, and only log exercise through fitbit; the rest will balance out.
