Eat less, and continue to eat less. Just don't eat too little. You can eat what you like. MFP tells you how much.

How overweight are you? If walking is difficult, do little things as much as you can. Move you arms, move your legs, etc. Anything helps. Losing weight is mainly about your diet. Start making gradual changes. You can eat most of the same things, just start eating less. Changing all at once may be too difficult.

At the top of the 'Getting Started' sub forum and this one are orange threads known as 'the stickies'. Have a read through them, they are full of all the information you need for successful weight loss.

Start with them, buy a food scale, then just log your food.

Learning how to log accurately, while finding out how much you are eating now, will build a useful foundation and reference point for moving into weight loss.

    Cheers, h.

Weight loss is about calories in vs. calories out. If you can't increase calories out right now (that's movement)....no worries, just eat less for the time being. Try cutting out 1 snack (for now) and eating (somewhat) smaller portions. Gradual changes can become permanent changes. Don't try for radical changes because too often people burn out, and fall off the wagon. We didn't become fat overnight, so we won't lose the weight overnight either.

If learning how to log food etc is daunting, find someone to write you a meal plan and exercise routine. That takes any guesswork out of it. You'd get a detailed list of what to eat for each meal...all you have to do is follow the directions.

I've referred a few people to Lukas Duncan, all with amazing results. https://www.lukasduncan.com/

If you're in the US, grab a cheap digital food scale on Amazon or at Walmart. Go through the guided My Fitness Pal setup, set your weekly weight loss goal, and begin tracking your food intake based on what MFP suggests you eat each day.

It's really that simple. Use your food scale for solid foods and measuring cups for liquids. Log every single bite of food and drink that goes into your body as accurately as you can. Stick to your calorie goal. Profit.

Just start logging today. Like right now! You can do it. In a few months you’ll think about how you felt when you posted this and it will feel like a different person.

You're in the right place. Look at the success stories on the mfp forum. They all lost weight. You can too. One bite at a time. Fill in your details in mfp and get a calorie recommendation. Then log everything you eat and see where you can make cuts and substitutions to get within your calorie goal. It's a process. Just keep showing up and improving your eating. You'll end up with a sustainable personalised eating plan that will help you reach your goal weight and stay there.

my advice is: stop looking for shortcuts and short term losses, most of the successful people lose the most over a year
There is no "fast" help. face the facts and be serious about it

If you are that out of shape that you get winded while getting dressed, then you should probably chat with your doctor as well.
