Yes this is probably silly but here I am starting again.
I realised the key to losing weight is to not have a zillion celebrations during the initial stages. The 'oke bite won't harm' does not work for me.

I was doing well, only eating what I needed, allowing myself to breathe, cutitng out unhealthy food. But having so many celebrations and excuses to eat cake is silly, for me.

I don't celebrate Xmas so have no worries of tempting food for December.

I'm female, 5"4 and after kids and no exercise, around 75kg.

I don't care how small the weighloss, give me a realistic number to lose by the new year and maintain and I'll add it as my first goal. I need to be serious about this.

This, which would be a bit under 2 kg.

Probably around 4 lbs of fat, and maybe an equal amount in water weight.

Water weight varies daily so can sometimes mask fat loss. Don't get discouraged, stick with a plan to lose 1 lbs a week.

    Cheers, h.

Your target does not need to be a specific number, certainly not for just 3 or 4 weeks. Try a goal of not eating any cake for a week, then another week, and so on. Do you have a MFP calorie limit? Stay within that for a week or several weeks. Target weighing or measuring everything. Don't be tied to some short-term weight number, only to disappoint yourself and go off the rails again.

make your target to log accurately as possible every day until jan 1 aside from maybe 2 days where you just aim to focus on good choices...and thn make the same commitment until next jan 1 ;D
