80 lbs so far

It's part of my journey (final goal is 132, so 52 more to go) but it's a special day because that's my labrador's weight so I had it as a milestone.
It's not the first time I do this (I've been in my ideal weight twice already, and always gained everything back) but I hope it's the last.
Changes from previous diet: First time I don't do it with a nutritionist, or any kind of support product.... just willpower.
Things that work for me, in case it helps anyone:
- A good scale, with an app. I use the eufy. Might no be the best one, but it got the ball rolling.
- Weighting myself every day, no exceptions. After some months you really see correlations between what you eat and the weight next day. This really helps to see what is a lot more harmful than you'd think and which is not. For example, I just cannot eat sushi or ramen, even in small amounts. I always gain weight the next day.
- Being outdoors, in general. Even if it's not a very active activity.
- Replacing my previous breakfast (one toast) with one egg and three ham or turkey slices.
- Having dinner early.
- Using lbs instead of kilos even if kg is my "native" weight unit. A kg is 2,2 lbs, so my weight in lbs is much much higher. This adds drama. On the plus side however, it's a lot easier to lose (and to gain) a lbs than it is a kg, so it's a lot more motivating.
Things that don't work for me:
- Power bars. Even one. Eat a power bar, or half, and the scale will punish me. Plus they are quite addictive so I get more cravings.
About willpower: I went to a conference in which they had free, unlimited chocolate from everyone in the world. I caved. In a big way. Gained 7 pounds in 3 days. They went away more or less quickly but it was a scare. The only thing that I'm proud of is that I weighted myself the next day and owned it. In the I would have probably just abandon the diet.
