Is it okay to miss today's workout?

On Monday I felt pretty sick so I decided it would be a good day to take off. Yesterday I felt much better and decided to get in a pretty good workout which has given me a bit of soreness today. I didn't get much sleep last night and was exhausted when I got back home and I just passed out on my couch for a couple of hours. After getting up, I started my workout like a normally do with about 20 minutes of yoga and it just felt terrible. My body didn't feel up to it and my muscles felt so tight and I felt worse after doing it instead of it giving me a mood boost. I had about an hour long cardio portion that I had planned left for the day and I was wondering if its okay to miss two days so close together? I feel guilty but I really just don't feel up to it, but I also don't want to start falling back into bad habits.

What is that sacrilegious behaviour ?!
If legs hurt then squat it off,
If arms hurt then curl it off,
If lower back hurts then dead lift it off....however, never ever miss a work out or say good bye to gains.

As a general rule, if you feel sick but it's all "above the neck" such as a stopped up nose, you can probably work out as long as you don't push yourself. If you have symptoms below the neck such as muscle aching, fever, and generally feeling awful, take a break. Your body needs its resources for healing and is telling you so. No guilt, feel better soon!4

I hereby permit you to take today off.
Seriously, over the course of your lifetime, missing a couple of days when you are ill will not impede your fitness. Get better, get some sleep, and get back at it.4 -
One of my favorite quotes about working out is from Stuart Scott (former ESPN commentator and cancer casualty) I am going to paraphrase as I don't have the book nearby. "Most day I don't feel well, on those days I have three choices- Get off my [butt] and go to work; get off my [butt] and go to the gym; or lie on the floor and do nothing. Most of the time I do one of the first two because I know seeing all the people at work or the adrenaline I get from working out will make me feel better. Then there are days when I am like "screw this, I'm lying on the floor and ain't [expletive] getting done today" typically I feel better the next day. It takes those screw the world days to have the energy to make it through all the other days. You have to know yourself, be honest with yourself, be accountable to yourself and know when to say "timeout" and when to say "play through the pain". You might feel like [poop] today, if you don't do [poop] about it, chances are the [poop] will still be there tomorrow."3

It sounds like you are fighting off a virus and if you are feeling lousy, it is okay to skip a workout.0
