Snacking

I can not stop snacking! I feel hungry!! I feel like im eating every two hours. any advice? Please do not say just dont eat. my stop growls so loud and actually gets this pain if I dont eat. Help!!! i cant stop and its jeopardizing my weight

    Find lower calorie substitutes. I snack on string cheese (80 calories apiece), Skinny Pop popcorn (80-90 calories for 2 cups), dry cereal (Quaker Corn Squares is 110 calories for 30 grams), etc. Before I take a portion, I log it. I haven't quit snacking. I've just quit mindlessly snacking, reaching into the bag until it's all gone.

    Of course you can stop snacking. But you don't have to. You just have to decide if you want to snack or stop snacking. What you can't decide, is how much food you need. If you want to eat fewer meals, you have to eat more for each meal. If you undereat, you'll overeat later. If you eat poorly, you'll be forced to overeat. But you also have to understand and accept your normal hunger cues. Hunger is supposed to be unpleasant, in order to get you to seek out and eat food. It's perfectly normal to feel the contractions in your stomach when it's empty. But you can still function, and preparing and/or waiting for a good, planned meal, can be just as delightful as eating it.

    So - are you eating enough? What's your age, height and current weight? Are you active, or breastfeeding, or both? What have you set your calories to? Are you tracking macros? Do you get in your five-a-day? Do you get 8 hours of sleep? Do you exercise moderately?

    Are you eating enough at meals? I find if I eat enough healthy protein and fat in my meal, it will fill me up to the next meal.

    Are you satisfied after eating your meals? It looks like you need to add the calories from your snacks to your meals. Also increase your fiber.

    Are you sure this is actual hunger, though? If you have weight to lose then you are or have been over eating so I doubt this is actual hunger. Have you tried a glass of water of a cup of tea first? Then wait 10 - 20 minutes to see if you actually need food.

    what are you eating and what do you normally 'crave' at the time that you go to snack?
