Another Fats question

What kind of fats are there besides the ones I know? Which are saturated, trans, poly & mono. So if I see a label that shows: Total fat 10g Sat fat 1.5g and no other fat listing do I assume the other 8.5 grams are mono & poly? Are trans fats a requirement here in California or can they, too, be left off the labeling?
Is there another fat that can be in the total that is not one of the four?

You posted this 40 minutes ago, and no one has responded yet... Did you consider that typing your question into Google might give you an immediate answer?
But to answer the question, they are the only fats. I don't live in California, so no idea what the labelling laws are there...Google would probably know!0 -
If it's listed as 10g of fat in total and 1.5g of it is sat fat then logically left over 8.5g is unsaturated fat. Don't assume that all of those 8.5g are mono & poly fat only, because trans fats are also considered unsaturated fat.
In California it is required by law to state how much trans fat there is in food. With exception if total fat amount in food is 0.5g or less per serving, then trans fat does not have to be listed. And fat content in total can be listed as 0g.
Be careful with this one tho, because there are a lot of foods who has zero grams of fat per serving in theory. But in actuality people ate more than one serving at a time. A classic example of this is potato chips. Party size pack of Lays potato chips has more than 400g of chips in it. Nutritional label says that there are 10g of total fat, 1.5g of sat fat and 0g of trans fat (by 0g here is meant less than half a gram [0.5] so in actuality there might be half a gram of sat fat in there). But if you pay attention you can see that the nutrition facts lebel is based not on whole 400g pack but one serving, which is about 28g.
But lets be real here, when you buy a pack of chips who the hell ates 15 chips at a time. If we buy a pack we ate the whole pack. So we might actually be getting 7.5g of trans fat (28g [one serving size] times 15 [15 servings in a pack] equals 420g [the whole pack weight]). And if there are 0.5g of trans fat in one serving then that times 15 equals 7.5g of trans fat per party size pack of Lays potato chips. It makes you think that you are eating food that has 0g of trans fat while in reality you are eating 7.5g of trans fat.
In another more extreme example if a pack of whatever food contains 10 servings of 0.5g of total fat per serving then that might be 5g of fat in total (0.5g times 10 servings equals 5g of total fat). And in extreme case all 5g of those fat might be trans fat. But since technically it's listed per serving and not total pakedge amount then they don't have to list them at all according to law in California. Or in other places where they have to list them they might be listed as 0g of total fat from which 0g is trans fat.
These food labeling laws are really messed up like that. It tricks people into thinking that they ate healthy but in actuality they are harming their health. According to law something might be listed at 100% fat free but in actuality you might be getting like 20g of trans fat or something (depending from amount of servings in a packedge). It should be illegal these motherlovers. But unfortunately that's the world we live in. Only way how to avoid it is to stop eating human made crap and switch to whole home cooked foods. Otherwise the whole game is rigged against you, when it comes to your health.0
