Has anyone had luck with pure barre? I'm enjoying it so far. Just looking for long term feedback.

I have not done Pure Barre but have done lots of barre classes at other studios. I enjoyed it and I do think it felt accessible / helped me stay active when I started my weight loss journey. However, I never felt like it was a huge calorie burn or super effective in getting dramatic results. I started working with a trainer who helped me with incorporating more HIIT cardio training and weight lifting and I have had much better results. I learned that the low weight, high-reps in a barre class are not really as effective for burning fat and gaining lean muscle. That being said, there are some great body-weight exercises and core work in the barre classes I've been to! I guess it depends on what you are looking for.1

I do spin and barre..
I really enjoy the community of Pure Barre - I have to say the music and beat of Soul Cycle has kept me the most engaged. I’ve used spinning for calorie burn and pure barre creates that long lean muscle look that’s so nice ... the adventure continues! The people I have met at both have been the main draw in keeping me going. hope you are enjoying!

Yes I love going to Pure Barre. I just wasn't sure if I should be adding a bunch of cardio or heavy weights. I have a lot more to lose so I was kinda reaching out0

The visible changes in body composition tend to be overstated. It can be great for posture, but expect minor changes in muscle & fat.
For general fitness & health, yes, cardio and strength training are both important. Pure Barre isn't usually as good for strength as a more traditional strength workout using heavier weights.. so consider supplementing it with a full-body strength program 1-2 times a week.0 -
What kind of luck are you hoping for?0

I took Barre (it was Cardio Barre) for a year and loved it. It was a HARD workout and I felt my muscles getting stronger within a couple of weeks and left every class totally wiped out and invigorated. After a couple of months I found little muscles I didn't know I had popping up everywhere. I only stopped going because I moved to a city/state with no classes0
