You may want to look into the eat more 2 lose weight group (em2lw), especially after several VLCDs.

I note that the FDA is very subtle in its opinion about the legality and advisability of using HCG products... subtle like a sledgehammer!

Didnt they use to use this as a former torture technique? Calorie in calorie out. Every, single, time. I couldnt think of anything worse than the hgc diet and shots of it. If it worked, obesity wouldnt be an issue. We'd all just be able to get an injection and be a healtny weight.

I am a bit obsessive about accuracy of tracking and if I ate a partial meal or anything It was difficult to track it online, I would end up with multiple entries based on portion size and it got overwhelming.

check out the recipe builder, you can input all the food and when you eat part of it just adjust the portion you log instead of having to re-enter everything.

My suspicion is that you maintained prior because your calories likely remained the same when you were on the protocol even after you stopped. When you switch to a diet that was higher in calories, that's when the extra fat storage happened.
The body is smart. When it senses a lack of calories to support whatever physical activity you're doing, the metabolic rate will reduce to compensate. When you start adding calories back after a long VCLD, it's NOT uncommon to gain A LOT of weight due to the metabolism not adjusting fast enough to react to the influx. Unfortunately, that's one of the side effects of keeping your calories too low over a period of time.
You're gonna have to try to offset it by trying to increase your metabolic rate and that's gonna come from increasing your physical activity and intensity when you do it.
