Just got back from Drs. had the best test results so far. A1C test was at 6. He said if he didn't know me and he got those results he wouldn't even know I was diabetic. Best thing is I have done this through diet with no medication. Worst thing is he says he absolutely does not want me to lose any more weight. I feel like I need to lose at least 5 more lbs. I am 5'61/2" tall an 61 years old. I weighed in at 134 lbs. today. I do not feel that I am to skinny.

I applaud your accomplishment! Isn't it fun to stump the doctors!
What program did you follow to lose the weight?

I think that the most important thing is whether you are healthy, not whether you are five pounds more or less than an arbitrary number.

If your doctor thinks you are a healthy weight then you can always keep working out, eat at maintenance, and just stay the same weight but slim down and tone up by losing bodyfat and gaining muscle. Losing five pounds isn't necessarily going to meet all of your needs but working out and eating healthily is going to be something you'll want to do for a lifetime anyway.

Huge congratulations on what the doctor said about the test results, that's amazing stuff!

I did my own diet. Reduced salt carbs and sugars. I know longer drink diet pepsi drink only water. I still indulge on things I like but instead of a quart of ice cream a scoop will do . No more bags of chips and boxes of cookies. Eat more vegies but will not quit eating meat. I exercise a lot and lift weights. Started Sept. 1 2012 and have met all my goals lower blood sugar lower blood pressure with no medication. I started wearing my wedding ring again in Jan. before our 42 wedding anniversary in March. Wearing size 8 clothes comfortably no more elastic pull up pants. Zippered jeans and a belt.
