Does anyone follow the 30/30 rule? No drinking 30 minutes before/during/after eating?
Have you had success with this?
Thanks

What is it supposed to help with?1

It would successfully help me be thirsty but my SO does it because he likes to taste his food and not have it watered down. That is all.0

Nope... I just drink when I'm thirsty. Seems like a strange rule.4
-
Wait, what is this supposed to do? My personal experience is that drinking a glass of water when I'm done eating actually helps me feel more satisfied and serves as a "signal" that I'm done eating.8

I've never heard of this... drinking, as in alcohol, or fluids in general? What's it supposed to do/accomplish?1

I can't even begin to figure out what that would accomplish.5

To those, like me, that were curious: I did a quick Google search and it looks like it is a rule for gastric surgery patients. It's to prevent filling up the stomach with liquid before eating (which can keep newer patients from eating enough, I think) and maybe to prevent over-filling of the remaining stomach area.
OP, it's for people in a very specific circumstance to meet their medical needs. It's not a general rule for weight loss for the rest of us.6 -
No, I'd choke.1

Dumb rule is dumb.0

I strongly dislike eating without something to drink. So I guess I might eat less. But I'd be unhappy and it's not like drinking while I eat a meal has interfered with weight loss.1

I like my rules to make at least a little bit of sense.5

What a very peculiar rule, never heard of it.
How you would define "success" with something so odd is anybody's guess.

Not me. I drink whenever I am thirsty and always have something to drink with a meal. It works fine for me.
What do you think no drinking 30 minutes before/during/after eating will do?
You don't need such a rule about drinking for weight loss. Weight loss is from having a calorie deficit.0 -

i have no idea why anyone who had not had that surgery would think that applied to them....?0 -

I'm wondering if they met someone who was losing weight due to surgery, saw they followed this guideline, and maybe thought it was a general weight loss tip? If not, I'm truly at a loss.1 -

Camel caps world be helpful. I read that as WooofTheDay.com, not WooOfTheDay.com. The first one would be an awesome site name for dog lovers.2 -
