I love baking! I bake for friends, family, birthdays, and holidays. Baking is also something I do for stress relief. This is challenging when I’m surrounded by the sugar, I want to “sample” the goods as I am baking. I don’t really want to give up baking but if I can’t control myself during the baking process, I’ll have to stop. Does anyone have any inspirational stories or tips to resist the sugar urge?

Suck on something while you are baking. Lemon drops or something else that would make items taste "off".

I assume your baking days are somewhat planned and you could adjust your calories for the day to allow for "test cookie", etc.

    Chewing gum works well.
I fill up the sink with soapy water and clean as I go. Double bonus; no surplus calories and the kitchen is done when I am done.
Having a plan for the final goodies is good too but I'm guessing you have that all under control.

I bake a lot, I do test a bit. Before I start I'll peel an orange or chop some fruit to snack on while baking.

I love baking! Especially this time of year. I spend the month of December baking treats for my husband's 300 employees, so as you can imagine, this has been a challenge for me!
It's my first holiday seasons since starting my weight loss journey and I don't have it all figured out by any means. This is what's working for me right now:
I use the kids or my husband as my testers now
I wrap and freeze every thing or give it away immediately to keep it from hanging around the kitchen
Bowls and any leftover yummy cookie doughs go straight into the sink and I fill the bowl with water.
    Chew gum
    Don't bake hungry!
