That's really a matter of personal choice.
If you buy into BMI, anything between 126# (56.27kg) and 169# (76.82kg) would be considered a "normal" and supposedly healthy weight for someone 5'9" tall.
Between 75-80 kg, you're talking about 165-176# which would put you in the "overweight" BMI range. However, I wouldn't worry about that if your BF% is at or below 15-18% or better.
FWIW, I have already reached my goal.
After 18 months of weight loss and maintenance, my weight is 158# (71.82kg) +/-3# (1.5kg) and at 5'8" my BMI is 24 (the high end of the "normal" range) with a BF% at 10-12% as measured by hydro & DXA.
I originally set 165# (75kg) as my goal weight, which would have put me in the "overweight" BMI by 1/10th @ 25.1).
I was at 16% BF when I weighed 162# w/a "normal" BMI of 24.2, but I think that I look better at 158# and 10% BF w/a BMI of 24 and prefer to maintain this weight instead.
So, choose the weight that you think suits you best. When you reach that weight, take stock and decide if that's really the best chioce. If it is, congrats! If not, decide what weight you'd like better and take the necessary action to achieve it.
Good luck!0 -
Depends whether you are aiming for lean, heavy muscled or average guy with low fat.0

I'm maintaining at/around 76kg and happy with that. Right at the top of the BMI range.
Having a stocky build / body proportions probably means higher up the BMI range works better for me compared to someone same height with relatively long limbs / slight build.
Lighter would be better for my cycling but current weight is my compromise between my contradictory cycling and strength training goals and also just simply feeling good.
But my favourite weight was 79.5 way back in my 20's when I had a fair bit of muscle.
Lowest adult weight was 71kg when my main sport was motorcycle racing and I needed to be light rather than strong but I felt underweight and under muscled and wasn't happy with the way I looked or felt.
Pick a number, maintain there a while and reassess - you don't have to get it right first time, I didn't.
I've also dropped and increased my maintenance weight as my goals and body composition have changed.0 -
I am shooting for below 165 pounds (~75 kg) using BMI as the guide. I chose that because I am average frame and BMI is pretty accurate for me, it isn't a number I made up (and can change) and it is an upper limit to keep me from expanding the range (and staying at top). Technically speaking, I am 5' 8.5".0

Depends on bone structure and muscle mass as well as personal preference. Anywhere from 155 or so to 180 or so.0

I've been in the low 160s and it's not lean enough for me. So I either need to get lighter, or add some muscle. But ultimately, I have no idea. It's a constantly moving target.0
