I'm 4'11 and 121 lbs. Before I has my son, I weighed 105 lbs. Its been hard to get back into gear since having him, I'm not blaming him, its 100% me. My impulse control and laziness have gotten the best of me.
My son is 3 years old and has cerebral palsy. I NEED to get back into gear to get my health back to insure I'm gong to be around for him, and be strong enough to care for he needs as he gets older and bigger.
I guess what I want to ask is, if I do the elliptical for 30 minutes 2-3 times a week, that's a start right? And that's good isn't it? It's not for nothing? I'm afraid of starting and going to hard, and then giving up because it's too hard. Does anyone have any tips to just get going?
Thank you.

Exercise is great for the body in many ways, so anything you can incorporate is not for nothing! The elliptical is a great option for some people. The best exercise is the one you enjoy, that way you will stick to it. Give it a try and see if you like it. If you need to start with a shorter time and work your way up to 30 minutes that is absolutely ok, do what works for you. If you find you cant stick to your plan try to pinpoint why, and I am sure all the users here can help you figure out a solution.

My tip would be find something that you can do for exercise that you enjoy, if you enjoy the elliptical then absolutely it's a great start.
Increasing your activity levels in anyway can help with getting fitter, that could be little changes like taking stairs instead of lift/escalator, if you drive - park a little further away than usual if you're out on your own, if you don't drive - walk more frequently, get off public transport a stop sooner.
There are also thousands of videos that you can do at home, many with no equipment or with some dumbbells.1
