What's the best way to use heart rate monitor??

Hi everyone! I have signed up to do the Michelle Bridges 12WBT which starts on 12 August. I am aiming to loose 15kg and have now bought a heart rate monitor (Polar FT&) to up the ante! I have only used it so far to measure calories burnt in each training session. HELP please on the best way to get the most out of my monitor for weight loss.

    I got a polar ft60 on Monday, do you have access to the online training log? There are challenges you can join, calories targets you can set. I think you need to keep an eye on your heart rate when training to stay in fat burning zone, according to my gym instructor in fat burning zone you still need to be able to talk ie say your full name. I'm no expert and would be interested to see other replies good luck!
