There are several restaurants/hangouts near school that my kids are always asking to go to with their friends, so we decided to buy gift cards for all of them so they don't always have to ask me for money. My oldest, who is away at university, asked for an In N Out card. Oh my goodness it smelled so good in there. I would have loved a nice sloppy double double and one of their amazing chocolate shakes. But I already had a healthy dinner planned and there was definitely no room in my calories as the only exercise I got today was Christmas shopping. So I bought my gift card and left. I won't lie.....a little part of me died, but another little part is planning a day to go back and indulge!

I feel that one of the great things about setting reasonable boundaries, is the planning and looking forward to what I've planned. I know that I can have anything, I just have to plan for it. Just a slight attitude adjustment, and you won't feel deprived.5

It can be difficult at this time of year, its easy to always say its xmas but it comes with a cost so limit the damage and folk will stay on track, however a bit of indulgence is fine.0
