hi just enquiring how other people log meal replacement shakes. As the title says i feel stupid as i'm unsure as to whether you just put down the shake powder or add the milk within the log.

If you add milk to the powder, then you have to log the milk as well unless the information on the shake packet says otherwise

Why would you not log the milk?

Are you asking if the milk is included with the powder in calories per serving? If that's the question, look at the nutrition label and see if they have 2 calorie counts - "dry" and "prepared". If they have "prepared" and you are preparing it as directed, you would just log those calories. If the calories are only for "dry" or if there is only one calorie count, then you would log the amount of dry product you used plus the amount of milk. Hope that helps.

I always use the same amounts and ingredients, so I just made a recipe named "Shake". 2 cups milk, 36 grams whey (I scanned the barcode on the whey to make sure it was the right kind). Now it just shows up in recents

Well you wouldnt log it in addition if the calorie count per serve on the packet includes the ingredients to make the finished product

I once went to log custard powder and couldnt believe how many calories it had until I realised I was going by the 'one serve prepared as per directions' - which included milk and sugar.
