Anyone out there have any suggestions for someone who has had a complete hysterectomy and lacks energy. I used to love the gym and it helped, I just cant seem to get motivated. I have gained back 30 pounds over the past 3 years. I had lapband surgery in 2011; had it removed (it slipped) in 2014. I had a hysterectomy in May of this year. I just seem so tired. I self loath because of the weight gain. My eating habits are not horrible. Seeking support

Did your doctor put you on hormone replacement therapy following the hysterectomy? I had a complete hysterectomy in 2010 at 45 years old and was on Estrogen until March of 2017. I never noticed having a change in my energy level after the surgery, but did notice some memory and "feeling blue" issues. Once the doctor increased these issues resolved themselves. I am just wondering if maybe you need a higher dosage of Estrogen if you are on it. I noticed after going off the Estrogen last winter that I tend to feel more blue, but have well established exercise and eating habits so I haven't slipped in that regard.

I read another thread on MFP about setting a goal "just for today" which basically motivates you to meet a goal for just one day and doesn't put pressure on you to meet some goal that is months or years out. Maybe if you say "just for today I will go to the gym and walk for 30 minutes" and keep doing just one thing that is good for you each day you will develop your habits again.

Hugs - I know how the sudden change in hormones can really mess things up!
