I too struggle with the medicine and weight gain. I'm one 5 mental health meds now. I just started the keto diet 4 days ago and am hoping that this will help me get some weight off.

Choosing a restrictive diet is usually not a good idea. Keto is extremely restrictive. It works for people who thrive on those particular restrictions - very low carb, moderate protein, high fat. It might be a good match for you, or a terrible one.

Eating less, consistently, for real, and for a long time, is the only thing that makes you lose weight.

The only thing you need for weight loss is a calorie deficit. If keto helps you maintain that deficit, then go for it.
