Am new to my fitness, and an old shoe at dieting and not sticking to it, therefore gaining weight back and then some.

Ugh, it can be so hard to stick to a diet. I have found that setting reasonable goals that I can stick to long term have made me much more successful. It sticks to go slow in the beginning, but is so worth it when I realize 6 months later I actually stuck with it. Sometimes I have to remind myself of that old tortoise and the hair story.

The first covers accurate logging and some of the tools in MFP to help you make things easier. The second discusses caloric needs and setting goals. These two posts completely changed my MFP experience and helped me be much more successful, so I hope they do the same for you.
