Here I am, signing up on a fitness website to track my progress. After years of denial, I'm finally taking the first step towards becoming the person I deserve to be. My entire life, I've always put others first, which defaults my priority underneath others. This has been my own doing, but it is not something that is always the best choice for myself. The way that we treat ourselves sets the guidelines for how others treat us. By taking this first step towards my fitness, I'm putting myself first.

I know that this will not be easy, but I am determined. I have a great support system around me, and I have all of the tools I need.

Today is day 1. I'm excited to see where I'll be on day 356 and beyond.

Go you! I like the way you express it, "putting myself first". I think it really helps to view this as a positive process, not as a punishment. There's a sign in my gym that says something like "I view exercise as a form of self-respect". Ditto for good nutrition and gradual weight loss imo.

Years ago I was really overweight...it actually got tough to walk up the three flights of stairs to my apartment. I, like you, just decided one day to make a change. Long story short: I lost a ton of weight and it felt so good. It totally changed my outlook on life on so many ways.
Recently, I have put some back on. Working on it.
Have fun with the process and find a way to make it fun.
    Good luck!
