Using Apple Watch 3 AND Garmin Fenix 5 with MFP?

I am switching from Fitbit to an Apple Watch 3 as soon as it arrives. I wear a Garmin watch for all of my runs, and currently wear my Fitbit Charge HR to track steps during a run, just like I do for everyday activities. Has anyone had any experience using an Apple Watch as your daily tracker and a Garmin to track runs? I'm wondering if they will "play nice" together and if there are any tricks I may need to know. . . Thanks!

You have a Fenix 5, and you use a Fitbit to track your steps?

I've had a Fitbit since they first came out. . . They've just always seemed the most accurate to me, and at this point, it's a habit. I don't plan to wear the Fenix everyday -
Too bulky and not really office appropriate for me - but will wear the Apple once it arrives. If the Apple can sub for the Fitbit (and I can tear myself away from it), I'm just hoping Garmin will play nice with it on MFP so I can get accurate calorie counts for activities to make sure I eat appropriately.
