Confliction

I am 5'9 140lbs (17%) body fat and I have been lifting seriously for about 5 months., but alas I am stuck at a crossroad. I do not know whether I want to bulk up and gain muscle, or if I want to cut down to a low body fat percentage (12%). If you have had a similar confliction please tell what you did because as it stands I'm lost.

    Your BMI is 20.7 so you don't have much wiggle room to move your weight downward.

    Body fat percentage is hard to accurately pinpoint and, as a number, doesn't really mean much. How do you feel about how you look? What kind of look do you want to achieve?

    My goal is to have showing abs. I am happy with how I look but I always like to strive to be better looking. The BMI part is what brought me to ask this question because I'm scared that if I cut ill become unhealthy. But I'm also scared that if I bulk I won't want to stop and end up becoming overweight.
