    It's not uncommon.

They exist, which means they make money, which means enough people buy them to be profitable, so they can't be that weird.

I don't think it's weird at all. I see men running in them all the time... and I *love* mine. Super comfy, and they make them for all weather, so they keep me warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. :)

My husband wears them every run.

Or big bum pants as we call them when we cycle. Why would it be weird?

Unless @TavistockToad is right and your wearing them to the pub or someones wedding :D

I heard wearing them everyday, everywhere, makes you lose weight no matter what you eat? Haven't taken mine off in months.

Yeah, I resisted buying a pair but for running in cool weather, nothing beats them. Course I'm wearing them and sweats these days, but I'm getting tired of winter.

I mean are you one of those guys who wears them to purposely show off his junk/display this false image of himself as being crazy awesome in the gym? I’ve found the only guys who tend to wear them are ego lifters and those who oddly enough don’t work legs. It’s completely alright to wear them as long as you’re wearing them for comfort and not some other reason.

I mean I wear pink tank tops to the gym so....

Not alone. I wear them when it’s cold out. And I also powerlift with them occasionally.

It's all in the context and how you accessorize them.

If you're wearing running leggings to the grocery store with a wig and pink 4" stiletto pumps, that could possibly be considered a bit out of the ordinary in many places.

If you're wearing running leggings with your workout gear while out running/cycling on a cold morning, it's probably not too unusual.

Nothing wrong with wearing them! I've heard a few guys who quite like to wear them during runs because it keeps them warm and they're quite comfy

Loads of men in my gym where them, many with shorts over the top

What is the point of the shorts over top? It’s a new fad for some reason and I’ve noticed the majority of the guys who wear then aren’t at all serious about lifting and more so there to show off and look “cool”

I think it's mainly guys who are insecure about wearing tights. My husband wore shorts over his to run until he decided that was just silly.

I sometimes wear cargo shorts over my spandex cycling shorts, just so I don't look like I'm trying to be a roadie on a mountain bike. :D

A little OT but there are MTB shorts that are like cargo shorts with a built in liner/chamois. I use mine with my road bike at times if I'm running errands and need pockets for my wallet etc.

So is it wrong that I think why would you wear them in the first place if you’re insecure about them?

Well, in his case he wasn't very fit, but he wanted to wear leggings to run because they are comfortable in cold weather. It's pretty much the same reason anyone would wear fitness gear to work out in despite feeling insecure in it.

Personally I've worn shorts over my winter tights at a coffee of races, so that I can pin my number to them.

Tights with thigh shorts over crew checking in. Absolutely nothing wrong with them and don't know why I didn't start them earlier. They work brilliantly for squats and deads giving you extra mobility and even better for cardio as you can monitor your leg movements. Why shorts over? It's just respectful to the rest of the gym, no one wants to see your hump getting choked when you leg press. If you really want to show off your *kitten*, then wear runners shorts and do hand stands in the squat rack.
