    My advice is to eat what you like when you want to, within your calorie allowance. Any meal can be reduced to fit your calories.

    Yep, you might find something else that works better, but to start, simply reducing portions is a good way to go. Using a food scale and measuring cups/spoons for accuracy can help you see what a serving size of something actually is.

    Welcome and good luck! I'd like to add a tip I have noticed for myself: be sure to try the food (and exercise) log. That helped to open my eyes to portion size and the calorie content.
