Earlier this year (Aprilish) my husband and I went to the Cheesecake Factory. They were kind enough to post the calorie content of all their dishes right on the menu. It was really helpful and I selected something that was upward's of 1,000 calories, but I split it in half and had the other half for lunch the next day.

Well, I just went to Cheesecake Factory today with my in laws, open the menu and...all the calorie content of their dishes are gone. I was really frustrated and annoyed. I ended up eating only half of my meal and brought the other half home for dinner, but when I went onto MyFitness Pal there are two different calorie counts of this dish, one for 800 and one for 1,120. I went with the higher one but this annoys me, if they just posted it on their menu I wouldn't have to guess. I went to their website and can't seem to find the nutrition information anymore. This is so annoying, especially because they used to have this information available and now it is gone.

Furthermore a tossed salad from there is listed as 180 calories on MyFitness Pal, but I kept my dressing on the side. It was just a plate of lettuce and a few pieces of tomatoes. No way that is 180, maybe 50 tops. I dipped my fork in the dressing so I don't know how much I used, but that whole serving dish looked full at the end of the meal, I am just counting that I used 1 tablespoon and logging the lettuce/tomato separately.

/rant.

I next to never eat anywhere with calorie counts. Because not that many chains. It's okay to make an educated guesstimate, worked out okay for me over the last 2.5 years.

Do you plan to contact Cheesecake Factory and let them know you miss the calorie information they used to kindly provide?

Most non-chain restaurants do not have calorie information. The database includes some incorrect entries. You will run into this issue again. Make your best guess, find a similar dish or dissect it and weigh out and log each ingredient.

Yes I did. My frustration was not that they didn't provide the information, it was that they used to provide the information and no longer do so.
