Happy New Year!!! How does that old "diet" ad go...new year new you!! Somehow it does seem like we get inundated with all these movements and plans and quick fixes at this time of year and really, do they do anything but make most people feel bad about themselves. It seems that if we aren't on this plan or work out with that celeb then we are doomed to fail. How much bullsh*t can we take?
So let's get real...we all want to be the best possible version of ourselves and we are usually willing to do whatever we need to to get there. We want that magic potion or instant fix to make us get there NOW!!! But we know that isn't going to happen. We didn't gain weight or get out of shape over night so really why would the repair be instant?
It takes commitment and work. We need to reassess our food intake and our exercise outlay. It's a fulltime job getting and staying healthy. And, yes, each one of us has to figure out our own path on this journey. What works for one may not work for another but one thing is sure...the only thing that is a sure bet is commitment and time. To succeed we need to give it time and stick to it!!! That's the real secret...dedication to getting there and the willingness to change things when they aren't working properly.
Now, as the year begins I am reaffirming my commitment to ME!!! By doing so my family and friends benefit by extension....better food is prepared and more activities are enjoyed!!! I have met many wonderful friends here and even if I have not met any of you in real life I am going to try to do so this year (does that count as a resolution?) You all have been wonderful with your support and coaching...you are like one big personal trainer!!
So now...go out there and make this a wonderful year for yourself and for each other. Make time for fun and enjoy each day!! Life is about living and let's do it to the best of our ability!!! (wow that was a few cliches)
