Hi everyone. I dabbled with MyFitnessPal a couple of years ago. Recently I discovered I have stage 3 kidney disease. I need to now watch my salt intake and cholesterol too as that’s high. Drs not too helpful with diet. Will try to pin them down next week with daily limits on sodium, potassium as well as phosphorus (unfortunately I can’t see a goal option for phosphorus on MFP - maybe it’s something the designers could introduce?). Does anyone else use this app for kidney disease reasons?

No, MFP does not have phosphorus as one of the nutrient options. Makes sure you talk to you doctor about how to limit it, it isn't a nutrient required to be listed on food labels either so that may be a tougher beast to tame. Similarly, if it were ever added to the app I would recommend you not rely on those numbers as the food database is created by user entries, and unfortunately they are not all correct, especially when it comes to macro nutrients, so I would not recommend relying on it for something medically related.

    ~best wishes
