Getting tone

My 2017 goal was to lose 30lbs. Achieved the goal over the course of 8 months, lots of dietary changes and cardio. Now I’m ready to start toning things up. It’s been years since I’ve actually tried to really build my core and tone up. Outside of my normal gym routine which is still cardio based I’m a little lost on where start, suggestions welcome.

Use a progressive lifting program like any of the ones listed in this thread. Stronglifts and Strong Curves are popular beginner programs.

when you are saying "tone" what you mean is " showing your muscle shape". the key to that is having a muscular base and then having low enough body fat to show the muscular base. sounds like you are on the right track for losing the fat. to get the muscular base you need resistance training. there are to many programs to go over but it shouldn't be too hard to find a beginner program. good luck. you got this.0

FYI to OP: This site also has a good beginner strength training routine.1
