Hi Friends,
My name is Bri. I'm 28, living in Chicago with my husband and our two cats. I work by day as an administrative assistant, and I'm also a singer. I was diagnosed with anxiety 5 years ago after months of being miserable and being unable to eat. My lowest weight was 160 pounds. I looked great but felt terrible. Once I started on anxiety medication and was able to eat again, I started eating EVERYTHING. In my early 20s I wasn't thinking much about health and calories, I was just happy to be eating again. Fast forward 5 years. I have tried and failed to get the weight off multiple times, and it just isn't happening, because of lack of commitment. I also don't have many people in my life who are also trying to lose weight, especially as much weight as I am, which makes it hard. I would love to have a support system on MFP of other people who have a lot of weight to lose. My ultimate goal weight is 100 pounds lighter, but I'm shooting for 40-45 pounds off by the end of the year. Would love to hear your stories and send me a friend request if you're struggling with losing a lot of weight too!

Hi Bri! I just started my journey!! I am 45 and very successful in everything I have done except my weight. I never looked at myself as heavy until now! So jets do this together.
  • Hi! I have struggled with my weight for almost 20 years. After babies and neglecting my own health I am still struggling. Just recently I was diagnosed diabetic, so I am currently learning how to control my blood sugars. I am also looking to loose about 100lbs but am happy with a little at a time doing it the healthy way. I would love to have someone to talk/vent to and help support as well!!

Hello, all! I am 48 (soon to be 49), and really do not like the idea of heading into my 50s overweight. I need to lose 74 pounds to get to my goal weight of 175 pounds. I'm not sure when the last time I was thin, I don't remember being thin, and frankly, I would like to know how it feels again!

Jessica, that sounds a lot like me! My weight gain happened since the birth of my youngest almost 15 years ago. I feel it's time I reclaimed my skinny body.

I joined MFP back end of 2015 following major surgery as a way to log recovery. I have 75lbs to lose and have allowed my ill health to get in the way of trying to lose this excess weight. So have reset everything from the 1st Jan and am working to achieve a substantial loss over the next year. I lose motivation easily as the family aren’t in the same position so fall back on convenience. Not saying I want to be skinny but getting back to pre baby 17 years ago would be great (leaves me top end of BMI)
