lost cause?

I just started MFP on New Year's and I have a party coming up 2/3 that I would like to look nice for. I know it's a very short amount of time but do you think there is any chance of me creating some definition in my arms before then? Would love some suggestions.

It can't harm to keep trying, giving up won't get you any where.7

I know whenever I'm consistent with doing push ups I notice more definition in my arms. I like to do them when watching my shows - during commercials I'll knock out some push ups and planks.0

I mean, you could either not do anything or you could do something. Decide which one will help you feel the best and do that one.4

If you don't work on them, there's zero chance of seeing any change by the time of the party. I know which option I'd choose.3

Maybe...maybe not...it's not much time, but surely you would be better off doing something than doing nothing...1

If you don't do anything you will see no results
If you do something you will see some results. You may not see the results you want, but you will see some kind of results.
So do something, you have nothing to lose!2 -
Most likely not. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't start a program that will last you well beyond the short term goal of a party0

Party aside, if there's an area of your physique you'd like to improve, try to improve it.
(Within reason and the framework of still being healthy, etc., etc.).
You might be too late to get the arms you want for this party but there will invariably be another party for which you'll want to look nice.0 -
Not a lost cause, just try it and see what happens. If you are eating at a deficit, you may drop some fat which would show more definition in your arms (provided there is some muscle there to begin with).0

All wonderful replies to say nothing. Try some push-ups, pull-ups, lift some weights or I found some great ones by searching Google for "best arm workouts". Since I can't tell from your profile, you can check them out specifically for women, if it applies. Good Luck!1

In all honesty, I wouldn't give myself a time limit for any kind of gains. If you keep at it, you'll eventually see the results but it could take longer than you'd hoped for which might result in demotivation. Any kind of result should make you feel positive.1

What is your starting point like?0 -
Why not start doing exercises now? Surely this February party won’t be the last party you’ll ever go to!! Even if you don’t see amazing results, you’ll no doubt feel better about any progress you make. Nothing like confidence to make a sleeveless dress look great. And the party you go to in March? You’ll look even more badass.0
