food at office...

Any ideas or thoughts in some lunches? i usually do lean cuisines but i am so sick of them. I don't mind cooking something but it needs to be small discreet and can not stink up a room. (like certain fish can) I work in a small office and have to be mindful of others that work close to me.

something to brighten up snacks or breakfasts would be helpful too...

When I make dinner each night, I put the leftovers into individual portions right away and then use those for lunches.

I usually have leftovers from the night before...especially this time of year when we make a lot of stews and whatnot. Otherwise, I usually have a sandwich and a salad or something.

My 10:30 snack will always be a hard boiled egg...love them and stays with me. I will pick up prepackaged lower calorie salads for lunch from walmart when I get groceries.Including throwing in the little boxed starkist tuna and crackers.NO HEATING! Also some sort of fruit. These stay within a good calorie range.
I could not eat lean cuisines everyday.....yuck!
Cook a few things on the weekend...double recipes for leftovers...not fish of course!
    Wraps with meats and veggies.
    Soup and sandwich.
Rice cake with a bit of peanut butter (snack)
    Use your imagination!

I second the leftovers idea. I'm typically content having the same item or two for work throughout my 5-6 day week. This week I make roasted pork tenderloin with potatos and carrots Sunday night and I am currently eating the last potion now as I type this (2nd shift, lunch = dinner). Since I like alone I always make larger meals an portion out everything as I finish it so it is easy throughout the week. Snacks: I have the tuna packets and a squirt tub of mayo in my drawer and I usually bring in either a greek yogurt or a couple rice cakes with cream cheese (currently have tomato basil rice cakes and veggie cream cheese).

    Next week I'm thinking chili.

I know most people can't stand eating the same things every day, so packing a tupperware bowl of leftovers from the night before would be perfect! Lean Cuisines are NOT cheap.... and to be honest they are very small and not filling to me at all.

I also like dinner leftovers for lunch. Or in the winter, I always enjoy homemade soups, stews and chilis for lunch. They can easily be kept warm in a Thermos. Just the past few weeks, I've made split pea soup, lentil soup, chicken and dumpling stew, and sweet potato chili.

In the warmer months I make up a big salad on Sunday evening and that's my lunch for the week. I put a couple of handfuls in a container in the morning, and put some proten in another container. Maybe add tomato or cucumber (they tend to get mushy by Friday if you add them on Sunday).

In the winter I make a crockpot of soup on Sunday and portion it out for lunches. I freeze some so that eventually I have a variety of soups in the freezer to choose from. I put out a container the night before to thaw and in the morning grab some protein to take with me.

I'll often cook up several chicken breasts or pork tenderloin on the weekend for my protein. Or open a can of black beans, tuna, or lentils. I also love cheese and nuts.

I honestly couldn't imagine eating lean cuisine every day for lunch. Makes me kind of sad :(

I eat a lot of Trader Joes salads with half of the dressing. They are good. I just buy a few each week and have a different kind each day.

I sometimes buy the TJ salads too and then mix in extra lettuce to make two or three salads. Going to TJ today, glad I saw this post.

I like hummus, carrots, celery and cucumbers. On weekends I like to food prep and cook up a few soups, stews and chilis and freeze into portions so that hubby can easily glad food for lunch.

I also keep graham crackers, oatmeal packets, tuna, a few apples, soups, and nuts at work. I will put veggies in baggies to grab. I plan on keeping a container of almond milk in the fridge to make protein shakes for the afternoon.

yes for sure! And honestly some of the lean cuisines or other box meals stink waaaaaay worse than fish.

I batch roast a bunch of veggies on Sunday - peppers, eggplant, zucchini, butternut, carrots, whatever and divvy it up into Tupperware containers. Heat 3 mins, no odor.

I eat a lot of wraps at work... turkey, ham, tuna, ect. Put a little cheese and a ton of veg on them with some spicy mustard and you're good to go!

I like to make a big batch of brown rice or quinoa on the weekend and then add some kind of protein to it for lunch - easy to travel with and microwave quickly and you can cater to your taste preferences. I love doing Spanish rice with grilled fajita-seasoned chicken.

If you look up sheet pan meals, there are TONS of food prep ones out there where you can bake up a week's worth of lunches at once.

I have two teenage sons. Leftovers don't happen very often  I usually keep a variety of frozen dinners in the freezer at work. Not Lean Cuisine, though. I find the protein and portions are too skimpy on those to suit me. I like Stouffer's Fit Kitchen line, Evol, and Amy's, to name a few.
