I like Manfred Mann's covers of both Springsteen's "Blinded By The LIght" and Dylan's "Quinn the Eskimo (Mighty Quinn)" better than the originals.
The Cramps' "Green Door", originally by Jim Lowe
The Pet Shop Boys "Go West", originally by The Village People
Anthrax's "Got The Time", originally by Joe Jackson
Siouxsie and the Banshees' "The Passenger", originally by Iggy Pop
The Jesus and Mary Chain's "Little Red Rooster" better than anyone else's version
Ben Folds and William Shatner's "Common People", originally by Pulp0 -
Emily Browning - Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)

She covered it better than Marilyn Manson, IMO.
Also, I like Smokey Robinson & the Miracles' version of The Beatles' You Really Got a Hold On Me better, as well as Tina & Ike Turner's take on Proud Mary.
ETA: How can I forget this little gem?! Save Ferris - Come On Eileenhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcxRtLpkAkQ

I can't believe I am going to say this... But Miley Cyrus did a great version of Lilac Wine. Her cover of Jolene is decent too, but not as good as Dollys.0

What I am saying maybe blasphemous... but I really like Adele's cover of "Make You Feel My Love" a bit more than the original.... I'm so sorry, Bob Dylan fans (;___;)
And I'm not even an Adele fan lol.0 -
