summer v winter weight loss

Last time I got serious was during the summer months. I always thought it would be easier during the warm weather & assumed I pack on pounds during hibernation season.
Back then it was a struggle to get full & not feel hungry during the day. I would bring fruit to work, snack on carrots etc.
Now it's winter & I feel myself not feeling as hungry. I'm drinking a LOT of hot tea to keep warm which may have something to do with feeling sated.
What time of year seems easier to you -- warm or cold?

I find summer easier because I'm more willing to go outside and be active. I loved my daily hour-long walks during the summer, listening to audiobooks.
Now it's all horrible and cold and snowy and I don't want to do anything but cuddle up in a warm blanket and watch Netflix. The struggle is real.6 -
I've been in maintenance going on 5 years...I typically put on 8-10 Lbs over the winter and shed it in the spring and stay lean all summer and into fall.
For me it's mainly a matter of activity. I spend a lot of time on my bike in the spring, summer, and fall...I ride outside mostly, so that dips in the winter when it's cold and dark and I'm relegated to my indoor bike trainer. I don't particularly enjoy it that much, so it's usually only 30 minutes or so a couple times per week and then a nice road ride on the weekend if I have a nice afternoon...beyond that I lift 3x per week.
In the spring, summer, and fall I'm typically on my bike 5-6 days per week. I'm also more generally active in the nicer weather with swimming, hiking, rock climbing, playing in the park with my kids, etc. I'm far more likely to spend an afternoon with my kids walking around the zoo for 3-4 hours on a Sunday vs winter where you'll most likely find me sitting on the couch watching football on Sunday afternoon. My activity level overall dips pretty significantly during the winter.
I also eat heavier and hardier foods in the winter whereas in summer it's lots of grilled fish, salads, fruit, etc that aren't too heavy in 100+ temperatures. Winters are casseroles, big stews, etc...just heavier food.
I don't mind really and the weight comes off straight away when cycling season starts up and I'm out on the road again logging the miles.1 -
I always do winter because I’m a strict dress/flowy skirt wearer in the summers and when it gets time to pulling out the pants I remember I need to fit in them0

Winter is easier for me because not a lot of my friends go out in the winter so I don't have parties to go to or dinners at restaurants that I can't estimate the calories with because no one leave's their house! I lost most of my weight last year between January and May before the graduation, memorial day, 4th of july, summer bbq's and family vacations started.0 -
100% warm for me. We have a farm so my activity level is much higher in the warmer months than now when the garden and grass are buried in snow and I'm more often curled up in front of the fire with a glass of wine than outside cutting and digging and mowing and hiking and shoveling and ...0

I’d say winter is harder because it’s cold and I don’t want to leave the house and 2. The gym is super crowded right now and it’s really annoying. (I go to a small community center so when it’s crowded it’s really bad)1

I'm a cold weather loser. I like to eat back my activity calories, whether I've earned them or not. I'll throw on another layer and exercise when it's cold, but I hate to exercise hot. Absolutely hate it. I swim in the summer, but it's a pain since I have to get in my car and go somewhere to do it. Plus I'm inefficient at swimming so I don't burn much.0

winter. I know summer is coming so I am thinking about summer and that helps motivate me, and I do more daily activity to help stay warm. In the summer I'm already in summer so I'm not thinking about losing weight for summer. I drink more alcohol in the summer and when I'm hot I don't want to move.0

When I lived in North Carolina, winter was rough because it was sometimes impossible to exercise outside. By "impossible" I mean we had ice storms and you could easily injure yourself within inches of your front door.
When there was no ice and it was just cold, I found that after I got over the initial unpleasantness of going outside, I actually ran better than I did in the summer. I overheat easily, so in winter I didn't have that problem. I learned to dress as though it was 20 degrees warmer than it actually was, and I was comfortable after I'd been running for a few minutes. Our winter wasn't extremely cold, though; we rarely had high temperatures below 25 degrees or so.
Now I live in coastal California and it doesn't make much difference, as the weather is pretty moderate year round. It's currently 62 degrees here.0 -

Same here.2 -
I lose less in summer. (Autumn, Winter and Spring all seem to be better.) I get more exercise because it's not so crazy hot. In summer I have to get up earlier to exercise before it gets too hot and that makes me hungrier as well which is a pain.0

I think they are equal for me. I grew up in Southern California, so I never got into winter hibernation mode too much. However, living in Chicago makes in apparent why many people bulk up in the winter.
During the summer, I'm more likely to be really active, but I'm also more likely to be at a party, day drinking, bar hopping etc etc. But, it's so warm that I don't get very hungry.
During the winter, I'm less active, but it's also too cold to go out and do anything. I also tend to skip eating because I'm too cold to go and get something. But when I do, it's something more hearty like stew or chili.1 -
I have never been able to lose weight over the winter. I am less active (take less walks) when it's really cold out, and the cold makes me crave rich, gooey warm foods. I could spend all of December and January sitting on the couch with a remote, a giant vat of Mac & cheese and a bottle of bourbon2
