Apple Cider Vinegar- Yes or No?

I have been looking into drinking diluted apple cider vinegar before each meal. It is suppose to help with weight loss and blood sugar levels however, I have also read that the acidity can cause damage to the enamel of your teeth and the esophagus. Does anyone use apple cider vinegar for weight loss and does it work? Have you noticed any damaged caused by it?

It does nothing for weight loss, unless it makes you lose your appetite from the taste (which it probably would for me)6

Here's a little reading for you for starters. This is a question that gets asked repeatedly on MFP. These are just a few of the thousands of threads about it:

It's funny how all the old diet fads get brought back to life. I remember adults chugging this stuff in the 1970's, it didn't work for weight loss back then either.2

It's good to cook with.
So that's more of a yes than a no.
I would not drink it, and I don't think it does a thing for weight loss.1 -
goes great in the bbq sauce and the salad dressings i make
drinking it will not make you lose weight.1 -
I'd buy a proper Asian vinegar, and cook Adobo with it.1
