Food scale question.

I got one. I’m going to start using it on Monday. I have a good idea of how to use it. My goal is 2 pounds a week of weight loss which I’ve done before without the food scale but my weight loss stalled. So my question is: if I use the food scale super accurately, will I for sure lose 2 pounds a week. Even if I don’t exercise? I want to hear from people who actually use it and are experienced. Thank you.

Only if the calories you’re eating support that math. I couldn’t, for example, lose 2 lbs a week no matter how on point my weighing is because it would drop me below 1200 calories for my stats.1

If you have more than 20lbs to lose then 2lbs per week is ok. If it's less then 0.5-1lb/week.
Using a food scale helps us have more calorie accuracy logging our meals so ultimately leads to successful weight loss. If we eat less than we burn, we lose.

Depends. Can you sustain a 1000 calorie deficit with your maintenance? I weigh 150 and I will barely lose a pound per week at 1200 calories, and that is really not that sustainable for me.
Your food scale will make your intake more accurate though, yes.0 -
I used mine to lose one pound per week over the first six moths of last year and I averaged slightly more. I am now using them to average ½ lb per week.0

That depends. If MFP has set you to the 1200 calorie minimum then you will not likely lose 2 pounds a week because the MFP math has determined that is an unhealthy rate of loss for you. If you are obese and tall then MFP may give you some higher number where losing 2 pounds a week is realistic. If your food measurements and activity calculations were perfect, then you may lose two pounds a week. When I use my activity tracker and weigh everything I end up losing a half pound a week more than I should. I'm going to guess for every person with my problem, someone has the the opposite. The only way to find out is to track everything and see what happens.0

I do lose weight when I accurately track my calories. And my food scale is an essential tool. I couldn't do it WITHOUT the food scale. But I don't always lose 2lbs a week. Some weeks I lose more, other weeks I lose less. It all depends on how well I stay within my calorie goals and how accurate I am with logging what I eat and the calories I burn.0

You won't ever for sure lose any amount of weight per week. Weight loss isn't linear, no matter how perfect your behavior. There is other stuff in your body than fat, and that stuff fluctuates as the normal way your body works.
A food scale will make your logging more accurate, and is a great idea if you've stalled for a bit. Good luck!2
