I've not done any workouts for a while (for a very long while) and mainly ran to deal with depression. Just after Christmas I started working out again, doing bodyweight exercises. I'm still not back at my old strength of course but my posture looks so much better, and with that my midsection. Plus slightly pumped arms: niiiiice! <3 I love that my thighs feel tighter again. Yay!

Congrats on getting back into the gym, and enjoying all the positive results. The strength will return in time.

I've just finished writing out my next 9 weeks in the gym plan, after having a few very inconsistent months, I hope I am as happy as you in two weeks.

    Cheers, h.

    Thanks Mate. Go for it!

Me, I wish I had a proper gym anywhere near my home, but unfortunately that's not the case. yes, I can go chose between several big gyms, but all the music, blinking screens, etc, drive me crazy - and don't want to pay for courses, pool or other things I don't use. And the only small gym with just a squatrack and bench... only has an olympic bar which is too heavy for my overhead lifts and not enough tiny weights for my tiny strength gains.

I use my local rec centre (Canada), the year pass works out to just over $1 a day, so I'm lucky. I don't think I would be happy at a big box place.

It's not perfect, one squat rack, and a little tight in the lifting area, but they were good enough to bring in a 17lbs and 35 (women's Oly) bar for me. It took a few months but it happened. :)

I'm pretty old and tiny so I will never move a big load of weight- there will be a happy dance post the day I manage to squat or OHP the Olympic bar.

    Cheers, h.

Haha! I know what you mean! My work (a university) has a gym just around the corner, but they don't even have a squatrack or a bench. For that, even $1/day is too much as I can do the same bodyweight exercises as home. And I know I won't go to their other gym elsewhere in town. *sigh* I might annoy the guys in a youth centre again and ask if they might stock up on a smaller bar and small weights.

When I first started out I used the gym in a gated community I was living in. Something constantly broke (sometimes when you used it), the max weight I could put on the bar was 70kg, but at least I could do some proper workouts there. Well, kind of. When my overhead lifts stalled I first used additional fastening rings to increase the weight, then small bags of rice :p
