This gives me Inspiration as well. I have been HYPOTHYROID since I was 12 years old. I am now 26 and have had a lot of changes. Turns out I also have PCOS. In 2006/2007 I was 222. and dropped 60 pds. down to 145.00 when I was given Metformin. My thyroid levels were normal and with metformin I was able to drop weight fast.

Then after several years of Different Docs, messing up my medication doses... (one of un-named got suspended) and the other Docs because I moved and got off of normal insurance when I moved out of my parents houses. Anyways. At the beginning of this year my weight went all the way back up to 220 pounds and I PROMISED myself I would NEVER see 222. again.. but a few days later.. I did see that evil number.

In reality, I had been trying to lose weight officially in October 2012. In January 2013. I increased my workouts to taibo. I also went to the Doctor becuase I actually kept gaining weight and I started just feeling SICK I even missed periods... and had all the symptoms of pregnancy... but was NOT PREGNANT... simply just feeling SICK. Doctor said my TSH was at 34.0 WAY TOO HIGH. No wonder I didn't feel well.

Anyways Im now on dose 200.mcgs of Levothyroxine... I was not even sure it went up that high. lol.

Anyways. In july I started INSANITY and I have seen inches lost. I don't see much scale change maybe 5 pounds... but inches lost everywhere. and about to start month 2 longer workouts hopefully I will start seeing more results. Especially since I already feel much better.

Anyways... just thought I would share my thoughts and experiances.

I have PCOS, and Hoshimotos, hypothyroid. I have gained over 100 lbs with this condition and unable to loose weight. The min I started loosing weight they stopped my meds because I went hyperthyroid and the weight kept coming 5lbs to 2lbs a month. The specialist put me on meds and told me to drink lots of water no juice or pop, he told me to stay away from processed foods and to eat more veggie lean meat, fruit and nuts. he said t stay away from bad carbs, and unnatural sugar but if I had to eat bread that it needed to be whole grain. He told me the best exercise for me is walking 2 times a day at 20 to 30 min at a time. I have followed his guidelines and have lost 29 lbs in just under 2 months. My MD Doc never told me any of this and I have been with him for a long time.

Been on Synthroid for years and lost 80lbs in 10 months. Changed insurance in June and now they won't pay for it, so I'm on levothyroxine and keep gaining and losing the same 5lbs. Not sure if it's me or my thyroid. I get tested at the end of this month, so looking forward to seeing if the generic meds are causing an issue.

I have been taking Synthroid for years. I started MFP last January and so far I have lost 43 lbs. Because of the weight loss I was told that I needed to cut back my Rx as I was over dosing myself. I am now down to .50mg and the doctor thinks that if I carry on with the weight loss (only 10lbs to go) I could probably quit taking synthroid. I always took mine at night because I dont eat after 7:00 pm and my stomach was empty by midnight. I have to eat as soon as I get up in the morning so night time is best for me for taking the medication.
