No - from personal experience I can confirm that the only important thing in terms of weight loss is the amount of your caloric deficit. Meal timing is something that only matters at very high levels of nutritional goal setting, e.g. optimizing post-exercise recovery or building lean muscle. Even then, that sort of timing isn't what you're talking about, and the science isn't settled (just suggestive).

If you just want to lose weight, don't sweat the number of meals or when they're eaten.

No, eat however many times a day you like, so long as calories are right. Some graze all day and some have been successful eating once a day. Many here skip breakfast.

I mostly ate three meals, but don't snack -- eating between meals just makes me hungrier and less satisfied, as I'd rather wait and have a larger meal.

I suggest arranging your mealtimes in a way which suits your lifestyle and which you can personally sustain - as others have said - to lose weight you simply have to eat less than you use. Well prepared, nutritious meals will make that easier as you can fill up with fewer calories. I have sometimes found that I am not ready for an early morning breakfast and so have skipped it, saving the calories for lunch or mid afternoon snack. Having said all that, I guess I wouldn't go for no food all day and a blow out at 10pm :)

You can eat one meal. You can eat ten meals. The only thing that matters for weight loss is that you’re in a calorie deficit.
