Anyone else count shivering under calories burned?

I think given the intense cold spell my coast has been under, I'm going to log the extra shivering lately as extra calories burned.
Because why not?

I wish that were a way to lose weight, but alas I'm always shivering cold and yet still obese.1

I have sat here several times this month thinking about how last year I had an extra 20 pounds of insulation
Still, itd be cool if it worked!0 -
Maybe it doesn't work for me because every time I'm shivering cold, I end up drinking hot chocolate and the pastries always accompany that too!0

I feel ya, Whipped cream accompanies hot chocolate in my house!0

After a quick google it seems shivering for 15 mins can burn 100 calories, unsure if this is 100 calories on top of what you would normally burn when not shivering or includes your normal burn from being alive.
But I feel logging shivering is straying too close to the magical land of detox juice and taking cold showers to burn calories. Where dragons and unicorns live.4 -
I was *mostly* joking. I'm just sick of winter.
Maybe excessive complaining can add to my calorie burn. I do like dragons after all. I have the "I'm 18 and have to get an impulsive tattoo to possibly regret later in life" dragon tattoo to prove it.
Unicorns can go suck a juicy detox cleanse though.1 -
I never thought about it but maybe it does. I had a bad chest cold a few weeks ago and was constantly coughing. My husband remarked that all the coughing was probably a good workout for my core...he’s usually not a “glass half full” kind of guy and I didn’t even know he knew what the term core meant. He must be reading Fitness articles or something.1

Hmm, maybe I’ll start logging my calories burned while sleeping0

Being shivering cold definitely burns more calories than being just a little cold. Shivering can burn around 100 calories in 15 minutes0

I don't count it because it's practically immeasurable, especially if it's being done nearly all day; just like fidgeting's & fidgeting {I once read}, typically burns 300 Calories daily! I'd wager, that if you're a person whom fidgets; then not to count it because you're plausibly, just doing 1 or the other, not both; during the same time but for someone like me whom doesn't fidget, I've been over consuming approximately 200 Calories daily since the middle of December; yet my weight riddance goals've been upon target or even better!0

Its all good... The temperature is finally above my age.
Ill resume my regularly scheduled sweat sessions now.0 -

That seems highly inaccurate to me, 15 minutes times 4 that's nearly equivalent to taking a Zumba class; for an hour with moderate effort upon average & if someone was shivering for 24 hours, that'd be 9600 Calories extra; that they'd have to consume that day! I'd vouch that it's most likely what a day's worth {24 hours} of fidgeting'd be instead!0 -

LOL. I mysteriously lost more weight than expected my first winter running up north. According to my Google search you do burn more calories being cold! Though I think most of the discrepancy was just my activity tracker sucking at it's job.0

@Soul_Radiation Winters are way too long where I live to not get outside and make the best of it. There are benefits and I've never experienced skin problems. The fresh air and sunshine keep the SAD away.
