I crave salty carbs. What do you crave a and how do you curb it?

Is it craving or an urge?

An urge- you didn’t plan on a donut today, but when you got to work, there they were. Someone brought them in. What to do? Resist. A donut today tanks your plan. You’re already going out tomorrow. Tank today and your week is shot. You have to resist, it’s the only way.

Craving- It’s 3 days later and you can’t forget that donut. At this point you’re going to have to have a donut. You have to fit it in. Would you be satisfied with half a donut? What are you willing to give up to make fit in your plan?

If it’s really a craving and not an urge, find a way to fit it in. I used to know someone who brought a small portion of potato chips with her lunch everyday. Weighed at home and put in a lunch bag. Had to be real chips. Sometimes we have to negotiate a surrender.

    Hi Sokie
I sometimes crave salty snacks so I buy rice cakes with flavour like salt and vinegar or yeast/marmite. I have one of them and the craving passes. Just 1 is far less calories than a bag of crisps if you 'fall off the wagon'. It seems to work for me.

Pickles kill any salty craving for me.
