So I'm waiting on a doc visit for a diagnosis regarding hip pain. SO I took it super easy this morning. I got on the elliptical for 20 minutes at the lowest incline and the lowest resistance.

MFP said it was 278 calorie burn. I'm going to bet my calorie burn is much much much lower. Anyone care to take a guess? (I guess this is why I need a fitness tracker)

i only log half my exercise when i bother to log it anyways. i was on the elliptical (it has you enter stats) an hour this morning. i dont recall what the calorie burn it tells me, i enter a half hour on mfp and use whatever that is. for me it was 300 some calories. but, like i said, i only log half my actual exercise time, when i log it at all.
  • If you log your stats I'd still cut out about 25% of the calories it says you burned. Mine overshoot despite how much I keep up on accurate stats. My treadmill and bike do too.
If you didn't, then the suggestion to log half of your workout time on MFP is a good one too. Better safe than eating back too many exercise calories.

20 mins on the elliptical for me is 120-140 going medium hard on a decent resistance. I'm 5'5 and 135, cals come from my Apple Watch.

278 cal for 20 minutes at lowest incline and resistance seems pretty high. Perhaps that might be accurate for someone who is very large? Without knowing your stats, I'd agree that logging half seems appropriate, though depending on your stats even 140 might be high.

My HRM measures about 90-120 calories less than what the elliptical says. I trust the HRM, but then again I don't log my exercise calories since they are built into my current calories/macros.
