Why am I tired all the time?

Hey,

I think this topic is about nutrition, because I am afraid I might have a shortage of some important vitamin etc. The thing is, I'm always tired, no matter what I try. I tried
- no exercise at all
- lots of exercise
- low carb
- lots of carb
- not smoking
- smoking
- staying outdoors the whole day
- doing only light office work for couple of months
I have been tired for many years. I have gone through different phases in my life: one year abroad traveling, one year intensive studies, half a year office work, phase in which I exercised a lot, a phase I was on low carb diet etc.. I have also taken D-vitamin supplements since I come from Finland and it's quite dark in there. Please, could anyone help me? I get enough sleep, that's not the problem.

Thank you!

Go see your doctor and have some blood work done.

You Could Have Sleep Apnea. I Had The Exact Same Problem, Told My Doc I Wanted A Sleep Study, And Sure Enough, I Have It Bad. I Got A CPAP Thru My Insurance.

Yes, see your doctor. There is sleep apnea, as mentioned. And there are many, many other sleep disorders as well. Check out chronic fatigue syndrome and hypersomnia also.

I agree, see a doctor and get you blood work checked out. You could also have an iron-deficiency, which the doc should be able to see from the lab paperwork. Talk to you doctor about your sleep habits too...

You should absolutely see your doctor, I spent eighteen months getting more and more tired. I tried diet and exercise but was just exhusted all the time. Finally, I went to the doctor, had blood work done and had the lowest thyroid hormone level that she had ever seen! So there can be medical reasons for these symptoms and things like anaemia and thyroid can be sorted out really easily.
  • If all your blood results are normal, drink more water.

Have you seen a doctor? You could have chronic fatigue or something.

Most likely you need iron. I have always been anemic so I pop my iron pills (2 a day) when I feel sluggish, cold all the time, and othet symtoms. Check with your doc and they can give you an rx or an otc.
